What is Yoga?
I you haven't done Yoga before you might wonder what is Yoga. Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years, but there is no exact definition of Yoga.
Yoga means different things for different people. Yoga means workout for one person, it might mean de-stressing or relaxation to another one, or it might mean a lifestyle, even a philosophy for someone else.
I was introduced to Yoga 10 years ago during a breakdown. Yoga was one of the few things, which helped me to start my life over. After my first Yoga class I saw visible changes on myself, noticeably on my face. The worry lines between my eyebrows and on my forehead were ironed out a got a healthy glow, the reflection in the mirror was someone I did not see for a long time. I felt hope and acceptance, knowing that I can come back to this state whenever I needed.
So what is Yoga for me?
Yoga for me on a daily basis means resetting, it allows me to slow down and switch off my ever-so-active brain for an hour.
In a bigger picture Yoga means transformation for me. Yoga is a self-care tool for learning to love ourselves and others, by creating harmony within body, mind and soul with the aim to define oneself on the journey of seeking balance, and finding purpose in life.
